See All ReviewsMy husband and I had dinner at Yama Izakaya and was genuinely impressed by both the quality and execution. Standouts for me were the oysters — exceptionally fresh with clean brininess, the sashimi selection which was incredibly fresh and well curated, and the grilled octopus that had the perfect texture and char. The uni was rich and creamy, and even something as simple as the ramen had incredible depth of flavor. Really appreciated how much care went into both presentation and balance of flavors. Definitely feels like one of Beaverton’s stronger new restaurant openings.
I’ve never reviewed a restraraunt but, WOW, now is the time to start! We stumbled on this place walking in downtown Beaverton, and they were having a soft opening, so we took a chance. Best decision! Service= on point. Decor= on point. Food= top notch (and I lived in Japan for a year so maybe I have a little, tiny bit of cred?) Favs included the spinach sesame salad, sweet ube cake dessert, spritz cocktail, and poke tostada, but there were zero low notes.
They're finally open! Was a great meal. Particularly enjoyed the tako karaage and the (off-menu) skewers, but everything was pretty well executed, especially for their first day open.
